Keva Michelle Landrum

Keva M. Landrum is an accomplished attorney and former judge who has dedicated her professional career to public service. She brings over two decades of legal experience to her current role as General Counsel for the Housing Authority of New Orleans, where she advises executive leadership on operational, business, policy, legislative, and human resources-related matters consistent with the agency’s mandate to oversee public housing and select neighborhoods and properties in Orleans Parish.
Ms. Landrum also has the honor of serving as an Assistant Examiner of Constitutional Law for the Louisiana Supreme Court—an appointment she has maintained since 2023.
Keen legal insight, inherent leadership abilities, professional integrity, service, and a willingness to collaborate have been guiding principles throughout Ms. Landrum’s career. This disposition has allowed her to lead effectively while applying and upholding the law in the public and private sectors.
Ms. Landrum paved her path in public service as a respected prosecutor at the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, where she became the first female district attorney in Louisiana. In all, she served a 10-year tenure with the district attorney's office, providing leadership as an assistant district attorney, a homicide and sex crimes screener, chief of the juvenile division, chief of the screening division, and interim first assistant district attorney, respectively. She also taught criminal law at Southern University at New Orleans.
From 2008 to 2020, Keva M. Landrum presided over Section E of Orleans Parish Criminal District Court. She became the first African American female to serve as chief judge during her judicial tenure in 2018. In this role, Ms. Landrum oversaw the court’s general operations, personnel, legal, legislative, and budgetary matters.
Her legal experience also includes litigating insurance defence and maritime cases at Deutsch Kerrigan, LLP.
She has also served as the legal analyst for CBS Affiliate WWL-TV in New Orleans.
A native of New Orleans, La., Keva M. Landrum received her J.D. from Tulane Law School in 1997 and her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1994.
